The Almost Heaven Scholarship Fund has issued scholarships to five deserving West Virginia high school seniors.
Chairman Frank Fazzolari announced the award winners on May 9, 2022. All recipients are graduating seniors of West Virginia High Schools and will receive scholarships for the first semester of their freshman year.
The first scholarship winner is Quentin D. Ibarra of Poca, WV. Mr. Ibarra will graduate from Poca High School and will attend Marshall.
The second scholarship recipient is Samantha Long of Parsons, WV. Ms. Long will graduate from Tucker County High School and will be enrolling at Pierpont Community and Technical College.
The third scholarship was awarded to Megan Wadsworth of Summersville, WV. Ms. Wadsworth will graduate from Nicholas County High School and plans to attend WVU – Tech.
The fourth scholarship recipient is Haley Ward of Ravenswood, WV. Ms. Ward will graduate from Ravenswood High School and will attend WVU – Parkersburg.
The final scholarship winner is Sidney Walls of Nitro, WV. Ms. Walls will graduate from Poca High School and will be attending Marshall University.
Mr. Ibarra, Ms. Long and Ms. Wadsworth will receive $1,000 scholarships while Ms. Ward and Ms. Walls will each receive $500 awards.
“It is indeed an honor to award these scholarships this year,” added Chairman Fazzolari. “We were extremely impressed with all the applications that we received. Those selected, however, distinguished themselves scholastically and within their communities. We certainly wish all the applicant’s great success as they continue their studies in West Virginia.
