Charleston, WV – May 19, 2017– The Almost Heaven Scholarship Fund has issued scholarships to four West Virginia high school seniors.
According to Vice-Chairman Dr. Darren Harris, this fund was organized in 2015 to provide additional means for high school seniors desiring to continue their education in West Virginia. “We strive to accumulate the necessary funds to allow students to attend college in West Virginia with the ultimate goal of retaining qualified individuals in the Mountain State after graduation.”
Chairman Frank Fazzolari announced the award winners on May 12, 2017. All the recipients are graduating seniors at West Virginia High Schools and will receive $1,200 scholarships for the first semester of their freshman year.
The first scholarship winner is Shannon Brunzo-Hager of Rupert, WV. Mr. Brunzo-Hager will graduate from Greenbrier West High School and will attend West Virginia University. (Picture Left)
The second scholarship recipient is Emily Hunt of Clendenin, WV. Ms. Hunt will graduate from Roane County High School and will be enrolling at West Virginia University.(Picture Middle)
The third scholarship was awarded to Stephanie Rogner of Lewisburg, WV. Ms. Rogner will be graduating from Greenbrier East High School and plans to attend Marshall University.(Picture Right)
The fourth recipient is Courtney Hoder of New Martinsville, WV. Ms. Hoder will graduate from Tyler Consolidated High School and will be attending Fairmont State University. (Not Pictured)
“It was our privilege to award four scholarships this year to these very deserving students,” added Chairman Fazzolari. “We were extremely impressed with the quality of their applications and with the manner they distinguished themselves scholastically and within their communities.”
The Almost Heaven Scholarship Fund was organized in 2015 with the sole purpose of raising funds to provide tuition assistance to West Virginia high school graduating seniors who will continue their educational pursuits at a West Virginia college or university.
