Charleston, WV – May 27, 2016– The Almost Heaven Scholarship Fund has issued scholarships to three high school seniors in McDowell County.
Chairman Frank Fazzolari announced the award winners on May 12, 2016. All the recipients are graduating seniors at McDowell County High Schools.
The first $1,200 scholarship winner is Farrah M. Rose of War, WV. Ms. Rose will be graduating from River View High School and plans to attend Concord University in the fall.
The second $1,200 scholarship recipient is Jeffrey T. Bennett III of Kimball, WV. Mr. Bennett will graduate from Mount View High School and will be enrolling at Davis and Elkins College.
The final scholarship of $600 will be awarded to Melissa M. Kroll of Elbert, WV. Ms. Kroll will also be graduating from Mount View High School and plans to attend West Virginia University.
“It was our goal to award two scholarships this year but these three applicants distinguished themselves and the Board of Directors decided to offer assistance to each,” added Chairman Fazzolari. “We were very impressed with the quality of their applications and with the manner they distinguished themselves scholastically.”
